Caddis Unveils New Brand, New Project
June 12, 2013 DALLAS, TEXAS — The Dallas-based real estate firm launches Heartis and announces its first development under the new name: the 96-bed Heartis Cleburne assisted living and memory care community near Fort Worth.
Caddis Partners LLC, a Dallas-based healthcare real estate development firm, announces the launch of its senior living brand, Heartis, as well as the first community to be developed under the new brand in Cleburne, Texas.
When executives of Caddis Partners decided to leverage their healthcare real estate expertise with a dedicated expansion into the senior living sector, they didn’t want to create just another senior housing brand.
“Our goal is to create a distinctive, unique brand that people will associate with the high-quality, high-value assisted living services and amenities that we will provide in our developments,” Caddis Partners CEO and Partner Jason L. Signor says. “We want prospective residents and their families to know that Heartis communities will be fun and inviting places where seniors can live life to the fullest while getting the care and support they need.”
“Heartis communities will offer great food, stimulating activities and a warm, comfortable, supportive environment,” adds Caddis Executive Vice President and Partner Matt Mattox. “Most of us at Caddis have aging parents of our own, so we have a personal stake in creating a caring environment where our own moms and dads would feel at home.”
In fact, the Caddis team’s commitment to fostering a home-like atmosphere is a big part of the reason they chose the Heartis name, which plays off the saying, “Home is where the heart is.” In addition, when using the Heartis logo, the periods after the words “Seniors” and “Living” send an intentional message that these residences are not just “seniors living” facilities, they are communities where “seniors” will be “living” genuinely fulfilling lives.
Heartis communities will be developed and owned by affiliates of Caddis Partners, with management being provided by Eugene, Ore.-based Good Neighbor Care. Good Neighbor Care has two decades of successful senior living management experience, and currently has operations in Texas and seven other states.
In addition to unveiling the new brand, Caddis officials today announced the start of construction of the first project under the Heartis name: 96-bed Heartis Cleburne. Work began last week for the 61,125-square-foot community, which will include 54 assisted living units (61 beds) and a dedicated 35-bed memory care unit. The residence will feature three interior courtyards (one dedicated to memory care) and high-quality, “Class A” finishes throughout.
Heartis Cleburne is being developed on 15 acres at 902 Walter P. Holliday Dr. in Cleburne, a south Fort Worth suburb that Caddis officials say is underserved in terms of senior living options. The hilltop site will provide residents with pleasant views of the surrounding countryside and Lake Pat Cleburne, and it is not far from Texas Health Resources Cleburne Hospital. In addition to allowing for future expansion and complimentary development, the site will also provide easy access to U.S. Highway 67 and the new Chisholm Trail Parkway which, when completed next year, will dramatically reduce travel time between Cleburne and downtown Fort Worth.
Rounding out the experienced development team for Heartis Cleburne are the Austin, Texas-based architectural firm Katus, the Dallas office of MAPP Construction and Houston-based Amegy Bank.
Heartis Cleburne is scheduled for completion by next summer, but that will be only the beginning, Mr. Mattox emphasizes.
“We already have another Heartis assisted living and memory care community under development in the Fort Worth area, as well as a standalone memory care facility,” he reveals. “Plus, we have six more communities under development and a goal of opening a total of 10 to 12 during the next 18 months.”
